If you’re looking for a change of pace from the saltwater beaches of Yarmouth, Sandy Pond Recreation Area has something to entertain everyone. The beach area and shallow fresh water are good for young children. There’s also a picnic area, playgrounds, baseball field, soccer field, tennis courts, pickleball courts and basketball courts. There’s tons of parking, so you’ll never have trouble finding a spot. Dogs aren’t allowed at the beach, but there is a dog park at the entrance to Sandy Pond with areas for dogs of all sizes.
