Sitting at the mouth of Bass River, Smuggler’s Beach (also known as Bass River Beach) is sure to entertain all members of the family. The large parking lot features full restroom facilities and a snack bar with picnic tables. Along Bass River, you’ll find a boat launch and a parking lot dedicated to vehicles with boat trailers. There’s also a pier sitting above the jetty for fishing. The western end of the beach has three beach volleyball courts. Swimmers will enjoy the warm gentle waters of Nantucket sound. Because of the large parking lot and relatively small beach, overcrowding can be an issue in peak season, so you might want to explore alternatives if you’re looking to avoid crowds.
