The only saltwater beach in Harwich not on Nantucket Sound, Pleasant Bay beach boasts spectacular views of the bay. Kids will enjoy splashing around in the calm waters and exploring the shallow tidal pools. Pleasant Bay is also a popular spot for kayakers and paddleboarders. Parking is limited to a few spots along the road and a Harwich beach sticker is required. Just down the road, Jackknife Beach in Chatham sits on the same stretch of Pleasant Bay and has a larger parking lot that is free.

Harwich beach stickers are required to park at town beaches from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Beach parking lots are free all other times. Weekly and seasonal passes can be used at all Harwich beaches. Day passes are sold at and valid only for Earle Road Beach, Pleasant Road Beach, Red River Beach and Long Pond.
